Around 80% of all of the plastic ever created still exists in landfills and natural ecosystems across the world.
Microplastics result from the breakdown of plastics, and can be found everywhere from oceans, rivers, landfills, rain water, marine habitats, to mothers’ breast milk, and even human blood.
Studies show that we consume approximately 5 grams (a spoonful) of plastics on a weekly basis.
