Sustainability

A commitment to sustainability lies at the center of all we do

01

Sustainability

Biotic uses macroalgae or agricultural waste to create a bio-based, scalable alternative to fossil-based plastics. Fulfilling global plastic demand with macroalgae as a feedstock would require an area smaller than 10% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch!

Sustainability
02

Circularity

Biotic’s manufacturing process produces zero waste by means of our green extraction method and material reuse.

Sustainability

Sourced in nature, returns to nature

Our cradle to grave approach begins with widely available, renewable biomass, and ends with polymers that fully biodegrade and leave no harmful trace!

Sustainability

Alignment with UN SDGs

UN SDG -

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were established by the United Nations in 2015 to provide a comprehensive framework for ending poverty, protecting our planet, and creating a reality of peace and prosperity for all people.

While there are no global standards for auditing claims of alignment to the SDGs, Biotic’s mission, technology, and end product embody their core tenets.

Biotic’s innovation is material
to the SDGs:

SDG 3

SDG 3

Copy Good health and well-being

Biotic is aiming to optimize health by providing a circular, safe, and healthy alternative to fossil based plastics.

SDG 9

SDG 9

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Through innovation, Biotic is changing the plastics industry’s sourcing of raw materials. Furthermore, Biotic uses efficient production methods, including the invention of a novel fermentation vessel that reduces costs and energy consumption.

SDG 13

SDG 13

Climate Action

Biotic is replacing fossil based plastics and chemical processes with a safe alternative.

SDG 8

SDG 8

Decent Work and Economic Growth

In order to fulfill global plastic demands, Biotic will have global manufacturing facilities, and plans to sublicense our technologies in order to ensure decent job opportunities and economic growth in each location.

SDG 12

SDG 12

Responsible Consumption and Production

Biotic’s bio-based and biodegradable polymers replace fossil-fuel plastics, aligning with the goal of global sustainable consumption and production patterns. By minimizing waste and promoting a circular economy, Biotic contributes to more responsible and efficient use of resources.

SDG 14

SDG 14

Life Below Waters

One of our feedstocks is macroalgae, a renewable marine biomass that grows globally throughout the year. Replacing conventional plastics with Biotic reduces plastic pollution in marine environments.

SDG 3

SDG 3

Copy Good health and well-being

Biotic is aiming for optimizing health by providing a circular, safe, and healthy alternative to fossil based plastics.

SDG 8

SDG 8

Decent work and economic growth

In order to fulfill global plastic demands, Biotic will have global manufacturing facilities, and plans to sublicense our technologies, in order to ensure decent job opportunities and economic growth in each location.

SDG 9

SDG 9

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

In order to manufacture in an efficient manner, we are innovating our infrastructure in various ways, such as designing a new fermentation vessel that reduces costs, energy consumption and overall production methods.

SDG 12

SDG 12

Responsible consumption and production

Even at very early stages, we are conducting ‘Life Cycle Analysis’ LCA in order to ensure we scale our production processes in a sustainable, ecological manner.

SDG 13

SDG 13

Climate Action

Replacing fossil based plastics and chemical processes, with a safe alternative.

SDG 14

SDG 14

Life below waters

Our renewable marine biomass, macroalgae, is naturally grown globally, all year long and has positive environmental effects, such as carbon capturing. Each ton of Biotic polymers produces, equivalently eliminates the use of a ton of toxic fossil-based polymers.

Since 2023, Biotic circular technologies ltd has been committed to the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
